need help identifying a book

I used to love this book in middle school but I completely forgot what it's called and I'd like to find it again at some point.

Ok, it's about this kid who meets this flying guy at his bedroom window, who lures him to this house that is half monster or something.. Later he discovers he cant leave the property the house is on, because of some kind of magical barrier. So most of the story is about him trying to find a way to escape, and he finds out that the other children that were trapped there before him were transformed into these huge fish in the pond in the back yard (i think). In the end (I think he kills the house somehow, or something).. anyway the house gets destroyed in the end, and he escapes. When he tells his parents about what happened and brings them to where the house was, there was just a huge hill in its place.

My description is kind of bad haha, but all I remember is that it was a great read.

Nevermind! I suddenly remembered that it was by Clive Barker and I looked it up. It turns out it is called "The Thief of Always".
