i suggest anything by:

Paulo Coelho- his books are really awesome and unique with a touch of spirituality.

Robin Cook- all his books are medical thrillers that will scare you!

Just read new book, not even out yet. Things Forgotten by Thomas N. Tabback. http://thingsforgottenbook.com look it up, don't be afraid to try it, it has all the elements of what a good book should be. I was captivated entirely and was sad it ended. It's a page-turner.
