New books

Post by mav »

Hi there, my sister got me into heavy reading at sixteen with literature that literally shook my world. Now it seems like Im at a standstill and cant find anything new that does the same, it was books like brave new world, catcher in the rye, 1984, confederacy of dunces. She moved away and I havent heard of her since but every time I find a book now they are never as intriguing or mind altering as the previous. If anyone has any suggestions let me know,

Try typing into your searchbar things like '100 best books of all time', or something like that and you will find various lists compiled by either interested indivduals or publications that may give you some ideas. I've done it for Pulitzer prizewinners and international equivalents that go back years and have made some good reading lists from this type of source. Some current book prizes have some worthwhile titles, too. The library usually has some reliable books recommending reading lists and these have proved useful.
