Am I the only one in the world who gives a crap about MTG?

Post by Cadeyrn »

I've been searching around on the internet for people who actually care, and I'm getting sick of no one respecting Magic: the Gathering books JUST because they came from a card game, or are made by Wizards of the Coast, etc. The fact is, the series, or at least the books made before Apocalypse plus Apocalypse, are very awesome. I'll admit I haven't finished them all yet, but I'm sick and tired of some of the best fantasy books ever written getting disrespected just because their card game is more popular.

People need to be reading books for the fact that they're good books, not for where they came from. It sullies the good name of people like Jeff Grub and J. Robert King, authors of MTG books who I say, and many others would say, have amazing writing styles.

Also, on a related but sort of off-topic note, have Grub or King written their own books? Because I would like to read them if they have.

Well... Try reading The Brothers' War if you want. It's an AWESOME book.

By the way, to answer my question about Grub and King, I looked at the back of one of my books and found out J. Robert King has tons of novels he's written himself. I should pick one up!
