Fragment of Childhood

Post by Malia »

I recall reading a certain book when I was in grade school, yet I can't recall the name.
The basic premise of the book is that the world has been changed so that nobody is different. This is done by taking the color out of the world. Nobody can see color so nobody differentiates one person from another. Yet there is an old man who retains the memory of color and of the past, of its strife and its happiness. A boy begins to see colors and is taken to this man to be "trained". The man uses a special technique to transfer the memories of the past to the boy so he can be their new vessel.

It's more complex than that but I just can't recall the name. If anybody knows pleeeease be so kind as to inform me? I'll <3 you forever :D!
