A book to take if you are going on holiday

Post by Moore »

What book should i take if i'm going on holiday? Of course it's nice to sunbathe all day long on the beach or having some exersions, but i like when my brain is working. So i usually read or do crosswords.
What book would you advise me to take with me on holiday?

My favorites that I've taken on vacation are short stories/essays by Marian Keyes, one called Under the Duvet and the other called Cracks in My Foundation.
I also really enjoyed a book called Dear Enemy about a WW2 medic.

That may seem strange but I like to reread some classical books like" War and Peace" or "Crime and Punisment"

I always bring a couple of books on hols & I usually go for light detective books ... that way I can leave them behind & not have to bother about packing them for the journey home. I visited Lake Garda, Italy recently & I read "Black Dogs" by Ian McEwan on the flight .... when you fly Ryanair a book is essential!

Depends if you are male or female ...

Female;
"The Italian Wedding" - Nicky Pellegrino (slice of life)
"The Fortune Teller's Daughter" - Lila Shaara (mystery)
"Housewife Down" - Alison Penton Harper (humour/chick lit)
Anything by Janet Evanovich (humour/chick lit)

Male;
"Shatter" - Michael Rowbotham (thriller)
Anything by David Baldacci (political/thriller)

The book "Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert might be a good suggestion.
