one book I can think of where it was being hyped up like crazy which I didn't quite understand or get was the Ready Player One novel or whatever it was supposed to be years ago.

at the time it was being hyped up like crazy, I thought it was an actual videogame game guide that was supposed to be some kind of cheat code Easter egg guide book thing
