I’d say that generally I don’t have a preference on gender, but sometimes it really depends on the genre of the book I’m reading. I tend to favor female authors when I want to read a good romance but I’d say most of my favorite suspense authors are male. That’s not counting Mary Higgins Clark or Iris Johanson, but just generally. When I’m choosing my next book, however, I don’t normally think too much about the author’s gender.

Female writers. Because they have interesting perspectives, and the world already has too many male writers.

I mostly read crime , thriller and mystery fiction and non fiction, I am not aware of any female writers yet in this genre.

I prefer romantic novels written by female authors and fantasy fiction novels written by male authors, though there are always exceptions, I never pick a book based on the gender of the author though.

Personally, I find myself gravitating more towards female authors. I feel that female authors often provide a fresh and engaging take on various themes and characters. Of course, there are male authors I enjoy as well, but overall, I tend to connect more with books written by women.

When it comes to reading, do you have a preference for male or female authors? Or do you simply choose books based on their genre, plot, or recommendations?

Here are some interesting points to consider:

- Perspective: Female authors often bring a unique perspective to their writing, exploring themes like relationships, family, and social issues.

- Style: Male authors can have a distinct writing style, sometimes delving deeper into action, adventure, and philosophical themes.

- Genre: Some genres, like romance, are dominated by female authors, while others, like science fiction, have traditionally been male-dominated.

- Bias: Let's face it - unconscious bias can influence our reading choices. Are we more likely to pick up a book written by an author of the same gender?

But here's the thing: great writing knows no gender! A good book is a good book, regardless of who wrote it.

I don't really mind as long as they can write thrilling stories. I believe females are best in writing romance novels which I really enjoy and males are best in writing about action which I also enjoy. So I like both
