Latest Review: Truth and Evil by G. Edward Martin

Okay, I'm starting to feel scammed.

I have three reviews that I have completed and paid for the books out of pocket, and all three have not been paid out. All three total $110. One of them, the review was held up for months and received a score of 100% but just now got completely rejected because I didn't know "Hell" (in the biblical sense) and "Gypsy" were considered borderline profanity. There is no guideline that says what is and isn't borderline profanity, there isn't even a rule of thumb. There isn't an option for me to correct it. Then I have another review that I have submitted and had approved by ADMIN, TWICE because of the editor rejecting it for arbitrary reasons (they said "whore" ISN'T borderline profanity, and because I didn't leave a summary of the book which is not in the review guidelines). The first time I submitted it, it got admin rechecked and approved, received a score of 94%, and then randomly said it wasn't submitted. I had one in drafts, so I suppose that's what messed it up. So I went through the draft, resubmitted, went through the same process all over again with the admin recheck, had it scored and approved, and it STILL says it hasn't been submitted. And as far as the third one, I'm still having the problem with the Amazon review.

Hi,

Sorry for the trouble you went through. It takes a bit to be able to navigate the site, I must admit.

For your first concern about profanity, there is an Official Profanity Guide in the Guidelines, and it contains what words to consider borderline, non-borderline profanity, and non-profanity. Here is a link: https://forums.onlinebookclub.org/viewt ... 2&t=226478

For the second issue, whore is a non-borderline profanity that is mentioned in the Official Profanity Guide.
About the summary, I just checked the guidelines and noticed that you are correct. This is probably because the editor, like me, is used to the old guidelines since the summary rule has been there for a long time and was recently removed.

For the resubmitted review, this is probably because when the editor marked your review as not adhering to the guidelines, it automatically went back to your update tab before you even submitted a recheck request. You'll have to submit it again, I'm afraid.

About the Amazon review, you must find a way to resolve this by submitting the review or contacting the support team; otherwise, all your payments will be pending until the review is submitted.

I hope I was able to help! Good luck!

Thank you for your response! It's frustrating that the editors aren't up to date on how to score the reviews properly. Especially since it makes you go through the whole process all over and lowers your reviewer score since they give you a low score on the review. That is not fair to us at all.

I didn't even know that profanity list existed until AFTER I said my prq was wrong on one of my reviews because I thought I'd be able to edit it. I got a notification that said it was wrong because I didn't put "Hell (biblical sense) and "Gypsy" as profanity, but then I finally saw this list and these are non borderline so my prq was correct but they won't let me edit it, and rejected the review -__-

Amazon was completely useless in being able to help with the "verified purchase" label which is frustrating because I bought the book and uploaded the invoice to this site. But they still won't approve the review here.
