The last book I read was EMP Honeymoon. I did not like the book. The dialogue was too rigid and polite. Plus, it was really unrealistic.

Book 26: Dialogues in paradise by Can Xue. The oneiric component is powerful in these thirteen stories presented by Can Xue's translator, from the most focused on the earthly world to the indistinguishable and hermetic final tales in which the characters are always motivated to go out in search of something through the immensities symbolic of the objects, places and people they encounter.
There are many objects to analyze in detail, such as mirrors that never reveal what is in front of them but rather show what is behind their reflection in signs that are confusing to everyone except the person reflected in them. Water also often serves as this reflection, and confuses and disturbs when it falls in the form of rain that impedes the progress of the search.
The rest of the components to be analyzed can be everyday for the western reader as well as traditional from the Asian culture and, therefore, difficult to interpret if one does not have knowledge of the subject.
I liked the novelty of writing with no more adornments than its hermeticity and also that it has taken me down a path of landscapes from the China of ancient tales even though it is set in contemporary times.
I recommend it to everyone who likes mazes and puzzles. I will surely read it again in the future. 5/5

Book 27: The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner. Another family tragedy that involves racism and misogyny, themes with which Faulkner has already accustomed me. Although this time there is also incest and castration. Which cost me to assimilate more than I expected.
By all accounts, Jason Compson is one of Faulkner's most hateful characters. In truth, I do not see any redeeming point in him, not even in his childhood, which he spent on the periphery while he did not have a more decisive role in the lives of his relatives, but as soon as he took power, he did demonstrate the male chauvinist, racist and crook he dared to be, without any remorse.
If I had a relative like that, I would have run away too, so I don't blame Quentin girl.
The beginning of the novel is very complicated due to the narration of Benji, the retard, which is why it would be a good idea to finish reading the book and take another look at that chapter, because the second time everything is captured without complications. Other than that, it's a very well told story and the plot is so disturbing that it caught my interest immediately. I recommend it to everyone. 5/5
