Why can't Jonny just quit? By Kyle Oh

This book was about addiction. I finally understood why in some people never get addicted to some drugs. If you evey been hooked to any drug, read this book to understand what happened. We all want a drug- addiction free world.

Book 28: Arsene Lupin versus Herlock Sholmes. Much respect for both characters who manage to keep up with each other on every occasion.
Arsene Lupin is certainly not the epitome of the well-intentioned villain, as he is out to win his good treasures at all times, but he can be counted on to help a beautiful woman courteously if the occasion arises as well. What a gentleman. Love him.
I've yet to read more of his stories, but I'm already predicting that a woman of his intellectual caliber would get him into serious trouble.
However, Wilson, who is Sholmes' adventure partner, comes off badly in more than one adventure, and I would have preferred if he had been portrayed in a more favorable light, as his character is always underrated.
Still, I won't hold Lupin against him because he spoke to him with courtesy and kindness even though he laughed behind his back. He also laughed at Herlock, so there is no need to be so mad. 4/5

Book 29: The Hollow Needle by Maurice Leblanc. In this novel, Isidore Beautrelet appears for the first time, a young 17-year-old student who puts Lupin in more than one hard situation and whom I loved from the beginning. Lupin feels a kind of weakness towards him born of frustration at discovering his plans and admiration for his intelligence and his desire to protect him for the future. Thus they begin a relationship of master and disciple in which each one ends up showing the other that he should not underestimate him. He is just the rival that Lupin needed and I hope he appears in more sequels.
Anyway, I like him more as an ally than as a rival, so I hope that at some point they talk and agree on something where they can continue admiring each other more closely. Those two together would be unstoppable. 5/5

I just finished Burn Zones by author Jorge P. Newbery and rated it 4 out of 4 stars. If you like reading about business success stories, or endurance bicycle races, this book captures both. I definitely recommend checking it out.

I'm one of those people who have different books open at the same time LOL! I'm currently reading "The Family Upstairs" by Lisa Jewell (Great mystery book) and "Journey to Your Summit: by Dave Vetta (My current book here on OBC. Thus far, it's actually rather interesting. I'd label it as an almost "Self-help" in category.

My Audible account is filled with over 250 books and the last one I've read listened o there is "Hiraeth (book 16 from the "Zombie Fallout" series. 5/5 stars here! I highly recommend Mark Tufo anything if you love a great fictional story with lots of sarcasm, excellent friendships and apocalyptic stories.

Book 30: 813 by Maurice Leblanc. Too bad it ended up on a cliffhanger. Maurice, you've gone commercial.
Anyway, I have come to the conclusion that I should read the entire series so I have no doubts about any loose ends.
In this part, Lupin is accused of murder, and sure, our notorious thief may be brawler and a bullie when he needs to, but he's never gotten to anything as common as murder, so he decides to help the police (well, he must have thought if he doesn't do it, those poor men won't) to clear his good name.
The baron, the antagonist of the book, really pissed me off, so I'm happy with his ending, but he's left so many things unresolved that warrant a new sequel. At this point I have to warn, don't start reading unless you want to finish the series. Once you're interested, there's no letting go. 4/5

The last book I read was Beyond the higher ground by Thomas.A. Brigger. It's a historical fiction novel that isn't usually my cup of tea but I came to like this one in the end. It's Very well written and has an intriguing plot but it was a little slow-paced so I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Book 31: The Three Crimes of Arsene Lupin by Maurice Leblanc. Unexpected outcome for the murderer in black that we had been following since the previous book. This time Lupin was surprised and the consequence could not be less than favorable. I was also sorry for all the work he had done and the discovery of his hopes. We also realize that the years take their toll and Lupin is no longer up to those shocks.
In short, it is impossible for the story to end here because the last note of hope is like the beginning of another great adventure, so I am not going to believe that Lupin dies even if he is a hundred years old. 4/5

Book 32: The crystal stopper by Maurice Leblanc. Lupin falls in love easily and after it gets over he realizes how much work it has cost him. It's a weakness of his character that I love. The whole crystal stopper contraption itself was interesting, but not so pleasant when it was discovered. While the villain of the day, a high-ranking lawman, by the way, struck me as a lewd and despicable man, I'm not at all satisfied with his ending. He must have suffered more.
In any case, I thought it was a story as entertaining as the rest of this series, and since there was a hint of a marriage that I'm interested in knowing about, I'll continue reading the rest of the books. 4/5

The last book I read was Visiting Uncle John by Frank Waltmire. I gave it a 4 out of 4 rating. It was a good read. With a big family secret revealed at the very end. :techie-studyingbrown:
