What is the last book you read, and your rating?

The last book I read was "I'll Take Your Questions Now" by Stephanie Grisham and I give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Being inside the White House during Trump's presidency gave Stephanie a first-hand view of the turmoil and chaos during Trump's administration. The constant lies by Trump and his cronies were sickening and I am so glad she wrote a book to make the public aware of what she saw. I have enjoyed reading several books about the Trump administration and the atrocities are being disclosed on a weekly basis. I lived through the Nixon Watergate crimes and they were nothing compared to the crimes committed by Donald Trump. I hope the trials are completed before the election and that people that have bowed to him wake up and vote to save our democracy by preventing Trump from becoming a dictator like Putin.

I have just finished reading '28 Disastrous Dates' by Poppy Mortimer. I've been reading such heavy, serious, mind-gobbling books recently, full of ideas about how to change my life, how to succeed in business, how to achieve total happiness, etc, that it was refreshing to be able to get through a funny, non-commital read in less than two days with a smile on my face.

Ice Scream by Thadd L. Wolfe

This book had a lot of potential. The prose was above average, had great setup... but the payoff wasn't that satisfying. They just don't do enough with the sentient evil snowman. Can't say more than that without spoilers. I feel like there was a focus on twists without making sure the story itself was worthwhile. I guess someone who enjoys surprises for the sake of surprises would enjoy this more than me.

I just finished Oath and Honor by Liz Cheney. It is a must-read for all who love our country above all else. I am so proud of the author for standing up for what is right about our democracy. The only difficulty I had with the book was following the many names and character roles that were introduced - but this was not the author's fault, it was mine in that I just did not recognize all of them. I am an Independent voter who would vote for Ms. Cheney in a heartbeat.

Hour of the Witch by Chris Bohjalian.
4/5 stars

Set in 1662, the language is definitely in and of its time and not for everyone. The pacing was slower than usual but, prithee, I enjoyed it.

The last book I've finished recently is I Hope This Doesn't Fing You by Ann Liang. I give it a 4/5. I can relate to the female protagonist; the novel is full of comedy. I'd recommend it to all perfectionists and over-achievers out there!

I just finished Binge by Anne Pfeffer. It was a great read for anyone who has struggled with eating disorders but it is portrayed in a lighthearted way. I rated 4/5

The last book that I recently read was "Collusion: Secret Meetings, Dirty Money, and How Russia Helped Donald Trump Win" by Luke Harding. This is an amazing book that truly shows the Trump corruption when he ran for president in 2016. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

"The Birthday Party" was my latest read, and it had me hooked from start to finish! I'd rate it a solid 4 stars. The author's storytelling prowess coupled with vivid imagery truly brought the party supplies to life. Highly recommend diving into this captivating tale!

The last book I read was "the Movie Chair" a well-written and illustrated book for children. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. I purchased a paperback copy so that I can read it to my great grandsons and they can follow along viewing the illustrations. I really enjoyed this book. @Mrlefty0706
