I like my books in the paper version.

However, I wouldn't mind an electronic device for reading blogs and other internet stuff offline.

I read fiction while lying down on bed so I cannot read from my computer. I don't like reading books from the computer. I feel that I am not reading a book when I am not reading it in hard copy format

I, too, used to be a fan of the actual hard copy of the book, but because I like to read in bed at night after my husband goes to sleep, I have become a big fan of reading e-books on my backlit Blackjack.

My eyes get tired when I read from a computer screen for too long. If I feel like reading on my computer, I prefer to read articles, web forums, etc.

If I am reading a book, I prefer to be old fashioned. Plus, I can lay in bed or on a couch easier with a book. And I can bring a book more places more conveniently.

I like actual books better--the feel and smell of a new book are great. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that in the future books will be obsolete, and our grandkids will laugh at the idea of printing books on paper when you can just use an e-book.

From an environmental perspective, e-books are better because you save paper. Still, I guess I'm old-fashioned. Technology is cool but sometimes it's nice to just have the basics.

I'm totally for the hard copy version. I already spend countless hours staring at the screen (be it at work or home). It's such a strain on the eyes. I enjoy reading actual books were I can relax and practically read anywhere.

For me, it has to be the hard copy. For me the story is not the whole experience of enjoying a book. I love the whole feel of the book. The cover design, illustrations, what type of paper, the fonts etc. If you have not guessed, I LOVE books. :D

I'll start buying ebooks as soon as they start selling them for a reasonable price, and without DRM. I'm not buying anything that has DRM, ever.

Sony has an agreement or something with Google Books because there's a link in their software for free Google Books downloads. :)

They also offer a few books every month for free (or it seems like it). Oftentimes, they are Harlequin Romances and stuff like that, but sometimes they have a few gems like Magic Kingdom For Sale, Sold! and other regular fiction books.

I have a Kindle and I LOVE it. It's easy on my eyes and very transportable. Books for it are often much less expensive than the normal books would are too.

I haven't forsaken regular books, though. I read both and still love holding a "real" book in my hands, but I have not regretted purchasing my Kindle. It is the iPod for books. And it's so simple! I really do love it.

PS

I also believe that eBook Readers of all types, including the Kindle, are the wave of the future. They're very green--and think of all the space people can free up in their homes!

Kindle also offers free books. Some better than others, but there's a whole range of them to appeal to everyone's reading taste.

Not a fan of e-book. I love the smell of books way too much. Just the thought that your holding one of the worlds greatest pieces of literary in your hands is too tempting to try to put off for an e-book.
