I almost find it more distracting when a book has less than 10 errors because I need to keep focusing on grammar and spelling instead of getting lost in the content like I usually do when I read just for fun. I think reading for content and reading for editing errors uses two different parts of my brain, which makes it harder to do!

Yes a book with a lot of punctuation or grammatical errors would affect my concentration and prevent me from giving the manuscript my full attention. You can try to ignore it and focus instead on the story development.
