I'm typically a huge multi-tasker but with books I've always read one at a time, but since it usually only takes me 2 days to read a book it's never really made sense for me to start another. I just have to make sure I always have a stack ready, especially when I travel, and make sure I remember what I've already read, more than once I've picked up something in the airport that I read just a month before, ugh.

I typically focus on one book at a time. That is how I get the most enjoyment out of it. Reading two at once can kinda mix the storylines together in my head and I get a little confused. One is good enough.

I am way too obsessed with books!

I would love to focus on one book at a time but truth be told I usually have a number going at the same time.

Currently I'm reading:

* New Moon - boyfriend's little sister got me addicted ;)
* How to Win Friends and Influence People - trying to be the best me :)
* Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - gift from a friend and different from what I normally read
* I Need a Killer Press Release - work related!

So...I'm a bit crazy when reading books. I'm looking forward to clear some of these out so I can focus on one :)

Biggest problem is I love book stores. I should not visit a bookstore until I'm done all the books currently in my home (of which there are TOO many!).

Awesome question!

Hugs,

Farrah

Guilty. I have read more than 3 books at a time, and though sometimes it gets a little confusing its not as hard for me to juggle a lot of books. (thankfully) But sometimes i think that reading several books at once is the only way to get to them all. To even think that there could be a great book out there that i will never touch disturbs me to no end.

I will often read 3 at a time. One for at home, one for at work when on break, and one audio book for the commute. Sometimes it takes me a bit to get back into the "setting," but as long as they aren't real similar it isn't too bad.

I admire you! My brain would become too muddled to concentrate on that many books at once.

I prefer only one at a time, but I have been known to read up to three. Especially when I was in college and I would have to read something for school. I would usually read that along with whatever I was reading for personal interest.

Thanks, but not sure I deserve it. I would prefer to only read one at a time, but I tend to forget my book at work or at home, then I am without. I tried reading while driving but after the school bus incident (joking), I listen to audio books during my 30 minute commute.

I usually red two books at once because I read in bed and the "bed book" has to be the lighter of the two and with the larger print size.

I rarely read just one book at a time. I've often joked that I have a reader's A.D.D. and that's perhaps the reason why. Although I usually don't have a problem keeping the stories straight unless it's been a long time since I've read a particular title. There are some cases where I will stay focused on a single work though due to some reason, either dense writing or continuation of a series for example.

I usually read 2 or 3 at a time. If I get bored with one I'll read one of the other's, or sometimes I only feel like reading romance one day or action the next. But usually it's becuase I'm too impatient to finish reading my current book before starting a new one that look's good.

Typically, I only read one book at a time. I always have a selection to choose from for the next book, and often am anxious to get to the next on my list, but I only read one at a time. Now, I have been known to read a fiction book and something nonfiction at the same time. For example, my boyfriend is getting me into guns, and I just got an encyclopedia of guns. It's nonfiction, it's very dry, and it's something I can bounce around in and read here and there. So I'm reading my regular fiction book (Lifeguard by James Patterson right now) and the gun book at the same time. I cannot read two fiction books at the same time, though, as I end up trying to cross characters and plots, and trying to figure out where this person went or why that gunfight has changed to a sex scene. lol

I must say I only read one book at a time and sometimes for months, but my mum has between three and four books on her night table and can tell you at any time what every book is about..

I very often read more than one, but my reason for this is very often that I have got fed up with the book I started first and so a reading another to take my mind off it. I don't like to completely give up on a book I've started though.
