I never loan books. If I let you walk out the door with one I've already given it to you. Every time I loaned a book I didn't get it back.
First time this has happened: I just finished a book that was so good I was compelled to give it to a friend so she could enjoy it too. Never done that before. Of course I already decided to buy a hardcover copy anyway but still....

When I was in high school, I was reading a novel and my friend picked it up to look at it. She had this habit of treating books harshly and true to my word, first thing she did was forcefully bend the spine. It was bent so badly the books always falls open to the page where she bent it.

Books that I enjoy I like to keep. As I am not rich, it is important that I try to keep whatever I value in as good condition as possible. I don't always have the money to buy new ones. Waste not, want not, as the saying going. Just a little reminder.DaoJones wrote:You know, the point is to read the book. Not keep it in perfect condition. No reason to be rough with it but at the same time there's no reason to treat it like it's going to break either. Just a little reminder.

While the words were different I believe that's what I said.Daily Alice wrote:Books that I enjoy I like to keep.
