Oops I kinda do that   but only to my sister when I suggest she reads something and in that case I think bugging her is par for the course of being a sister  but I don't get mad if someone outright tells me they don't want to read it, it's up to them after all so I agree with you there that they shouldn't get mad at you.

I have no objection to getting book suggestions but sometimes I get kinda inundated with suggestions & the pressure can turn reading into something I feel I have to do rather than something I want to do for sheer pleasure.
But I usually get back on an even keel pretty quickly.

Not usually. People tend to assume that I like romance novels 'cause....???...'cause I'm a chick, I guess. I even had a woman follow me around in a bookstore--she worked there--so she could point out the vast array of romance blahdeblah they had. I finally asked her if she'd seen my concealed carry license anywhere 'cause I couldn't find it in my purse, and.....that did the trick.
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

What's THAT supposed to mean, Fran???? :)
The CCW thing is a big deal here, 'cause it just passed. So everybody's like, "D'ja get your concealed carry license yet?"...it's like the new "What's your sign?".
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

I love getting suggestions. I tend to stick to my usual authors, so I dont mind being introduced to different authors and genres.
but
if a person more than once suggested a book i dont like, i tend not to take their suggestions anymore.

II like it when close friends and family recommended books, anybody else, I get a bit annoyed because I think they won't know my likes well enough. That being Sid, I have been told about a good few books by acquaintances.

I do ! I love getting recommendations, unfortunately the most recommendations I get are either from friends, or youtubers. Not so much on forums or other websites. If you guys have any good books to recommend, feel free to drop me a message! And look for me on goodreads too!

I like getting suggestions. I've been introduced to several great books that way.

Sometimes I like suggestions. Occasionally on goodreads there's a really good fit for my niche and often in real life people on my course suggest things. The problem is there is never enough time (or money!) to read them all alongside writing so choice is the difficult part. I'd never say no to suggestions though - too often I've been without any new writers to read and that sucks.

I love to get suggestions. I am always willing to try new books and new authors. I, myself, cannot find them all on my own. Plus I like to hear what they thought of the book and why they think it is worth suggesting. Books are wondrous. If someone felt the book was worth passing on, I will do my best to give it a try.

Put me down on the "I don't mind" side. It doesn't excite me to get a suggestion nor does it bug me.

I love getting suggestions for books. There are times when I have no idea where to even start and it's really helpful to have someone mention a book they loved!

I don't mind book suggestions either, but like you say people would judge me by appearance for Oprah's book of the month when I'm actually reading the hunt for Bin Laden
