I sometimes skip pages of a book but it is usually when it is a irrelevant page.Otherwise i would much rather to read a book a word to a word to enjoy it as much as possible

No, but sometimes I get so excited that I really want to. Usually books pull me in to the point of not even hearing people around me talk and stuff. If I start a book I usually have to make sure that I have a clear schedule because I can't do anything else until it is done. When I am doing something else it's like living a second life because I am constantly day dreaming about what is happening, or what could happen in the book. I know that sounds a little crazy and intense, but it is my truth.

It is often tempting to skip pages but I usually don't unless I have read a whole chapter and wished I hadn't picked up the book. Reading is relaxing for me and reminds me to slow down. It is too easy for me to forget that on days when I have a huge list. Oddly, those are the days I usually want to skip pages on a book that feels slow. :)

When I brought the 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy I was actually excited to see what was the fuss about. I actually thought the book(s) would be anything but a deplorable cliche. I didn`t expect a happy ending, least to say marriage, kids and all that. I had actually started to skip the sex pages because there was nothing but sex happening. Don`t get me wrong, I expected sex but I was also expecting something that would intellectually excite my mind.

Sorry to say I was bored with the books and skipped a lot of pages... I don`t understand why some people were so happy least to say excited with the books, maybe because their own sex lives weren`t at all happening.

You know I have always heard about some people flipping to the back and reading the last page or chapter so they can see how its going to end before reading the entire book. I never could do that. I always started from page 1 and read every single page. I didn't want to miss an important detail.

You know, these forums are quite useless if we just say what we think and no one comments. I can do that in the mirror. At least this topic seems to be pretty dead, if you open a topic, at least engage with your commenters. I do hope someone agrees on this..

I can't remember if I commented on this before or not, but I'll do it again anyway. :) Absolutely not! I'd be afraid I'd miss a bunch of important words.

I do skip pages when I find too much of unnecessary detailing about the surroundings or when I feel that I have to quickly make it to the interesting part.

I do skip ahead sometimes, but usually go back. I don't deal with suspense that well; and one of my favorite genres is the cozy mystery. But I like to know how a book is constructed, and also to get to know characters well. And there's that guilt thing a number of readers have admitted to. As if we are being watched. I don't really care about being surprised by the ending. In fact, surprises annoy me. So skipping to the end and going back an make me feel more relaxed and ready to take in the details.

It's up to the content i read. If it's some novels that i'm deeply interested in, i won't skip at all.

I skip pages when the book is exciting. I'm impatient to find out what happens in the end. This is a very compulsive, yet annoying, habit that I have. Glad I'm not alone! In the end, I've created so many spoilers that I have to force myself to forget what I've learnt and go back to where I left off.

I have done that in the past but felt like I was missing something so I would always go back and read what I skipped over. I just learned not to do that because I can't stand feeling like I might have missed something good.

When I was younger I would always have tendencies to skip pages, but now I have to read cover to cover, there's no way I could imagine skipping pages!
