Probably To Kill A Mockingbird and The Hound Of The Baskervilles are the two stories I have read the most number of times. The "Hey Boo" moment in Mockingbird and the "Mr. Holmes, they were the footprints of a gigantic hound." moment in The Hound alone were worth the price of the books.

Hmmm... I guess for me, anything by Stephen King (especially Misery and the Tommyknockers) and 1984 are books I come to again and again :-)

Hi there DAto, I have also read "To Kill a Mockingbird" about four or five times and it is one of my favourite books. I am currently in the midst of reading all the Sherlock Holmes novels and collections of short stories in chronological order and I am not up to "The Hound of the baskervilles" yet, but I have heard it is really good. :)

I envy you Gannon. I only wish I could read The Hound Of The Baskervilles again for the first time. It is, in my opinion, the best of the Sherlock Holmes stories. The first book you should read is the short novel, A Study In Scarlet because it tells the story of how Holmes and Watson first met. I did not read it first though. My introduction to Sherlock Holmes was the collection of short stories called The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes. After reading that I was totally hooked. I have since read all of the stories from all of the collections as well as all of the novels at least three times but as stated above I've probably read Hound the most number of times.

Hey there DAto, I bought a set of the complete works of Sherlock Holmes and I must say that I am indeed hooked. They are all in chronological order. I have read "A Study in Scarlet", " The Sign of Four" and "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", I am up to "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes". I have had others tell me that "The Hound of the Baskervilles" is the best novel as well. I am taking a little break to read some other books at the moment but can't wait to get back to them. Thanks for the advice. :D

Animal Farm or The Art of War. Wouldn't like to guess which one though.

I actually have read black beauty the most.. i dont know why, something about it makes me go back to it when i cant really find the right book to read at that time. My guilty pleasure to re-read is the twilight saga too..slight cringe but i love it!

I do re-read some items and find that each reading brings out something new. The one book I have read the most is 'War and Peace.'

The only time i would ever Reread a book is if the story get to the soul, and the writing is as close to perfect as it can be (Perfect in my mind anyway) and gets me to imagine who the story would look like.... and there's very few books that have put me in that mood to read it again......

Daughters of Fortune by Tara Hyland
Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
War Of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
Blue Smoke By Nora Roberts
Black Hills By Nora Roberts
Black Jewels Trilogy by ANne Bishop

I normally don't reread books. I thrive on the "What's going to happen next!?". Once I know the general plot, I normally don't feel drawn to read the book again unless it's been years and years. The only book I can recall having read more than once is "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck. I've read that book 3 times in total. That book changed my life, I tell you what.

The one I've re-read the most is my favorite one, The Count of Monte Cristo. No matter how many times I read it , it never loses its charm. I feel as if I'm reading it for the first time.

I very rarely re-read books. There are so many books I want to read and re-reading seems like a waste of time.

That said, I do re-read passages from books that I love. For example, the last couple pages of J.M Coetzee's Disgrace. I re-read a couple of short stories from Jack Ketchum's Peaceable Kingdom from time to time. The last few pages of White Teeth by Zadie Smith.
