Sometimes I'll try to power through it in the hope that it might get better. If it's something I definitely can't get into, I have to let it go.

It depends on the situation but in general If a book doesn't maintain my interest by the 5th or 6th chapter then I'm not afraid to dump it and find something else. Sometimes, if a book is considered a classic or comes highly recommended, then I may try to give it an extra couple chapters but I do tend to place some of that burden on the author to keep me interested enough to continue.

I try my best to keep reading it but when it starts to become unbearable and you have other books you need to read I just put it down.

I try and solider on and read it to the end... but your damned sure that I'm going to voice just how un-interesting it is in a review!!! Hopefully from seeing negative reviews the author will change their writing style

It's quite a bad habit but If I don't like a book after about 15 pages, I won't even try to finish it. That's why I'm so bad about assigned reading in school.

If the book doesn't appeal to me in the first couple chapters I will just stop reading it.

Stick with it until I'm finished. Then find all the ways I could have improved on it if I was the author.

I try to finish it If its not just dreadful. Sometimes I have to stop reading it for a while because I'm discouraged at how bad the book is. I think there was only one book that I didn't finish because I just couldn't deal with it, and I can't even remember the title.

If a book isn't interesting me and I don't want to waste my time and finish the whole book ,I usually just skim the pages until I'm done.

If it's just downright undigestable I'll just drop it. Otherwise i'll try and give it the benefit of the doubt and read as much as I can. There has to be some reason it was published right?

I usually read it anyway and usually it pulls through and gets super interesting in the end. Unfortunately, there have been some that haven't.

For me, I end up putting the bloody thing down. I have a busy life, with growing boys, and if I am unable to get through a book I will lose interest. By my putting it down I do plan to pick it back up later down the road and try again. I have a three try rule, giving time in between each session, to see if the book will be worth my time or my interest has changed. To my surprise, this method has worked for me and I in turn love the book. :-)

If I don't find a book interesting from the very beginning, then I still read a few more chapters to see if it gets better. If it doesn't, then I just toss it away.
