No, I don't skip ahead. If bored I might give the book a break for awhile and come back to it later if the story up to that point was good. Even when a book is fantastic, I read through instead of skipping ahead. Guess I'm always worried I would miss something.

 I actually do that. Before I start reading the actual content, I read the copyright page first and the book's publication history, the foreword, author's notes if there are any but I only read the blurbs and the author's mini-bio after I'm done with the book. I don't want them to influence my reading experience.

I guess, that answers the OP's question. No, I don't skip pages. I read every word in the book including long descriptive details of places, clothes etc.

I never skip pages or chapters. I used to but then I found myself re-reading sections that I missed. This was usually due to the fact that I missed a detail that came up later. If a book is boring me I just don't keep reading. I either devote my whole attention to it or give up.

I find that in some paragraphs, there's seems to be "less important" information.. So I find myself skimming through those paragraphs. I couldn't really see myself skipping through whole chapters or pages. I might have missed that one sentence that's important or so.... And not knowing would kill me haha so I tend to skim read a lot. :)

Sometimes when I'm nearing the end of the book I find I no longer have the stamina to read each word, but I want to know how it ends! I never skip entire pages, but I do skim.

Nope! I've never been one to skip pages... or even words! (Though that does happen occasionally when I'm reading too quickly because a part just got really good!)

It's possible that I may have been a skipper while reading some books for school, but if I was pretty sure I wasn't going to read all of a book, I would just pick a chapter or 2 in the middle and then read the ending. (But that basically never happened! Shh, don't tell my teachers!)

After training and working as an editor for a while, I just found it difficult to let go of any words, let alone whole pages. That said, I do tend to read an excerpt from books before buying and there have been a few that, in retrospect, maybe I should have skipped a bit!

I do. There are even times when I impatiently read the end and then return to where I had skipped from!

Sometimes if the chapers are to long or I just want to get to the good part. Even though I try to restrain myself.

Not frequently and never with a first time read. That being said I must admit that I do skip the sex scenes on the Earth's Children series (Jean Auel)

Yes, but only if I hit a terribly boring part of the novel that doesn't seem to be going anywhere or if I run into long and overly descriptive passages that strike me as 'filler' and don't appear to enhance the overall story.

Yes, especially when the novel is moving to slowly and doesn't appear to be going anywhere, I'll skip ahead to see if it's worth continuing. Also, I may skip pages if I believe that overly descriptive passages are not adding anything relevant to the on-going story line.

I try not to skip pages. Usually if I'm getting frustrated with a book (for being too slow or due to hating the character(s) ) I'll skim a paragraph and continue to read. More often than not skimming/skipping just isn't worth it though. I, more often than not, end up going back to re-read what I skimmed or skipped in order to get some details I missed or clarify something I was confused on later.

Never. If it is a book that I wanted to read in the first place and spent money on, then I would feel that I was cheating myself out of an adventure. If I decide I don't like it for one reason or another, skipping ahead wouldn't make that better. Give the author a chance to redeem themselves and just finish it quickly. :)
