I can't use bookmarks because I lose them so often. I usually just try to remember the page number and if that doesn't work I just flip to somewhere in the book and go between pages until something sounds familiar. It usually works surprisingly well for me.

I absolutely must stop at the bottom of a page that has a period! However, I prefer to end on a chapter. :D

I use everything I can get my hands on! I get a good amount of bookmarks as presents for different occasions throughout the year, so I use those, but usually my bajillion bookmarks are already in books, so I use whatever is on hand, and then I will change it out when I find a bookmark.

I am in the same calm as most everyone else, I use random envelopes, scraps of paper, junk mail card stock etc.

I use free ones I get from the Book Depository. (Failing that, I grab whatever I can.)
I had this really nice one back in high school that came with an exact replica of the One Ring from Lord Of The Rings. (I lost both items years ago.)

I usually use a bookmark I got from Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island. Shockingly, I haven't lost it over the last 3.5 years. If I don't have that one handy, I use a post-it note.

I use real bookmarks, but when I am unable to find one I would use paper or anything that looks like one.

I used to make my own elaborate markers, I've used the magnetic ones that don't hurt the spine or pages, I've ear marked pages, used odd bits of paper or used the jacket on hardcovers. Honestly I'm not a big fan of any specific type of bookmark. I end up losing most or read a book too quickly and forget to replace it. If anything the ear marker consistently works the best for me

I have a bookmark buying problem. I only read one book at a time but I have about 10 bookmarks now. I find cute bookmarks in stores so I keep buying them. I switch off once in a while.

When I'm at school, I have a book mark that says, "Shhh, I'm reading!". Other than that, I either fold the pages or use a sticky note.

I have a bookmark that says "shhh, I am busy trying to slay a dragon so leave me alone" and one that says " don't touch my book". :D

I try to use just a piece of paper or a post-it note, on occasion I will use a "real" bookmark, but I definitely try to stay away from folding the pages ><

I have a strange knack for remembering page numbers and where I am on the page. I am reading four books at the moment and I can tell you what page I am on all four.
Lord of the rings: the two towers- page 34
The Vesuvius Club- page 73
The complete Sherlock Holmes- page 61
The land of stories: a Grimm warning- page 9
So many books to read, so little time..

I was in a classroom this last week and one of the students was using a corner from an old mailed envelope. He just slid the corner over the corner of the page he was on. What a neat idea.

I use anything as a bookmark: anything from a small booklet to a piece of lined small paper from my journal. I've used napkins and pens as well.
