I am not a fan of non-fiction or sci-fi, I like books that are more relatable.

Romance. Mostly because I am not interested in reading about two random characters in bed. Plus my own dating life has enough drama, I don't need to read anymore. :)

Love vampire tales. Hate the current trend of vampire smut novels. Can someone explain what happened since Anne Rice?

I cannot stand 'vampire' novels. Ever since Bram Stoker's classic Dracula the genre has gone downhill. The romantised vampire which seems to be currently popular is particularly abhorrent to me. To answer "Dementia5's' question I think that writers are trying to cash in on the TV popularity for romantic vampires, which to me is ludicrous. I avoid all this junk like the plague, both books and TV.

I think you should stay from series books. Don't get me wrong I like some books series such as Harry Potter. But some of the books series now are boring.

This is a tough one because I'd like to think I'm open to great storytelling regardless of genre. The truth is that I probably tend to avoid modern warfare stories (unless it's the Apocalypse and a ragtag band of unlikely heroes are saving people). I don't like intense physical suffering at the hands of sadistic characters. I also tend to avoid serial killers. Great question!

I generally stay away from any fantasy/sci-fi type novels. I have an imagination, but I like to remain realistic.

Horror! I don't like watching horror films and I don't care for the horror genre in books.i really like to be transported to the world a book creates and I can't do that if I'm getting the pants scared off of me!

I will attempt to read anything else with romance being my favorite, especially fantasy romance, all the way down to biographies.

I don't particularly like non-fiction, specifically biographies. They bore me and I'd rather be reading something that's not true and is a wonderful story than read about someone's life. I don't know that's just how I feel. :P

Hey Alls!

Science fiction. Well I read them from time to time but sometimes it just doesn't work for me and the plot can be ridiculous . Science fiction is either a win or a failure and you guess it right . I read a lot of failure science-fiction books.

Yours sincerely,
Nur Syazwani

I never was a fan of history in school, so anything that is historical is out. However, I did enjoy that series of stories about young girls during different eras. I don't remember what it was called, but from what I remember they were written in a journal style by a young girl from different historical eras. So, I guess I might be able to read good historical fiction. I always liked Dan Brown's DaVinci Code books, but I don't think those are considered historical fiction.

Honestly, I can't bring myself to read vampire romance books. All the hype with Twilight really ruined that for me. I couldn't jump on the bandwagon and have avoided the books. Maybe this mostly applies to Twilight, but I can't do Vampire Diaries either. I'm not a fan of the "chick flick" romance novels. I need a book with action, suspense, and excitement, so the romance novels just seem boring to me.
Journey beyond the jacket.

I stay away from YA, suspense-thrillers.

With YA Its just too "young" for me. I'm grown now, been there done some of that, don't need to read a book about it. ( young love and angst)

As for suspense- thrillers or horror, never liked the genres. In tv or books.
