So you've done it, too, hm? :D

I threw one yesterday! Ha, ha! I got really mad when I read Henry VIII congratulatory nicknames in a Charles Dickens book. Then, after I'd gathered my senses enough to pick it back up, I realized ole Dickens was just as mad as I was. :D

I have never burned a book and I doubt I ever will. I rarely get rid of any books that I own and the ones that I have outgrown I like to give them to people who will enjoy them as much as I did.

I have a lot of books that are very special to me either because of the people who've given them to me or the time at which I found them. I'd never trade them or give them away... or burn them... for any reason. Ha, ha

I'm very tempted to go upstairs to our library(i.e. collection of book shelves!) and try to find a book I could happily burn.

I wanted to burn my high school history book. I love history. I love reading about it every chance I get, but this volume was so disorganized!!! Navigating it was like... like... Well, the book's gone now. :D Teachers... But, what would we do without them?

I could never bring myself to burn any of my books. I want to save my books and put them in the library I am going to have built in my future home, so burning books is a no go! Plus that's a waste, if you don't want a book then just donate it.

I was wondering the same thing the idea that a book could be "evil". I think the bible is a horrible book with terrible ideas about morality but I wouldn't say it was evil. Books can't be evil they're inanimate objects, they're ideas put on paper maybe the author or authors are horrible people with bad moral judgement i.e. the comment someone wrote about sexism & racism but the books being evil? No

Burning books has never crossed my mind! I donate all my old books and textbooks to the Goodwill Bookstore where I buy most of my books when I have the chance.

I once tried to burn a book, "The Amityville Horror" because it freaked me out. It wouldn't burn and that freaked me out more. Now I just avoid books (and movies) about demons if I know ahead of time. No point to burning books. If it doesn't seem like a good read, just don't read it.

Only one, a hardback version of 'War and Peace'. A huge tome that looked great on the shelf after purchase. It had splendidly gold lettering on the spine, great page quality and it was only £2.00 at a charity shop. It seemed a real bargain until I got about three quarters through and every other page was missing, they were never in the book to begin with, simply a printer/publisher error... damn, I thought, so I burnt it !!! I finished the book after quickly getting a cheapo paperback for the same price, the change in print size took me bit to get used to, but it got finished..... a great book, but a hard one to read in company.. !!
