Im saving up for a kindle at the moment so the future for me is ebooks (would never read a book from a computor screen though just from something like a kindle)

Things like the kindle do have their problems but the benefits for me personally outweigh the disadvantages. I never keep any of my books, I have a couple of boxs under my bed which need to be put on Amazon to sell and the book reader takes away all this hassle.

I dont get this smell thing though - whenever I get a new book I dont sit there sniffing it

I think that ebooks are cool, but I love hardcovers if I really like the author series or the cover looks that great, but if its a book I'm skeptical about, Id go the ebook way! Or wait the year for the paperback.

If it is a book I really enjoyed and would like to hang on to, I will buy the hardcover, but others I go electronic.

I REALLY hope ebooks don't take over. I hate that idea. What if your device for reading the goes out? Real books are always there. They have better portability since you don't have to worry about them breaking or powering up your equipment. Staring at a bright screen for a long time is hard on the eyes.

Plus, I love the smell of books too much, and the feeling of holding them in my hands.

I like hard books, but man are those e-books convenient when you're waiting in line at the DMV or doctor's office.

I bought a Sony e-reader to keep the piles of books at bay. Being able to buy new books at a fraction of the cost of a hardcover and the ease and speed of downloading is incredible, however, the short battery life keeps me from having it as portable as I would like. In the end hand me a paper book any time - no batteries required!!

I prefer a real book anyday over an ebook. My husband gave me a kindle for Christmas last year. Although I had repeatedly told him I wasn't interested. I guess he'd heard about people who were won over by the Kindle once they had one. I do use it and have downloaded books on it, but I don't really enjoy the reading experience as much with it.

Both of 'em have its pros and cons. When I travel I prefer e-books but real books if I would just read at home.

What's nice about ebooks is that it saves trees :)

I just bought a Sony Reader at the end of January. It was the PRS-900 and I just wrote a review of it and posted it in the Community & Off Topic Board in this Forum. :D

I looked at eReaders but ended up going with an Asus T91MT tablet netbook because I couldn't read my textbooks on the eReaders. I love it. It has less battery life and is a little heavier, but it also has Windows 7 so I can watch movies, go online, and use Microsoft Office with it.

I was skeptical also, because like most of you I love the feel of a book, but it is definitely growing on me. Travel is the best because it is smaller than most hardcover books, and you can keep literally thousands on it. It also makes you want to read, which is weird, since I already read too much, but I fly through pages faster on the tablet it seems.

I will probably still buy books I want to keep, like the classics, but the eBook medium is growing on me.

One of the reasons I think eBooks and eReaders will grow in popularity is that many of today's children become familiarized with computers, VDUs etc before they actually learn to read. With me and for many posters here I'd imagine, it was the other way around. Therefore we're often nostalgic about old-fashioned books.

I prefer hard books than e-books. E-book can cause stain to our eyes. Moreover, hard books are much more convenient.

But, that's just me. :D
I like being able to hold a physical book too. Especially that new book smell you can't get that with a ebook.

I really thought I didn't want an eReader, but when I got my Nook, I found that I could carry around my entire library with me in my purse. I prefer the Nook, simply because of the one-handed reading option instead of two. I can prop it up and read while I'm drying my hair, or having a meal.

BUT, I can't take it with me for a long, lazy soak in the tub.
