When I use the library auto checkout, I click 'Print Receipt' and use this as my temporary bookmark. Generally I use
a fold-over cardboard strip which has a magnet at either end so when slipped over the page it holds tight.

Once I started a collection but can't go passed my favourite, an old blue bookmark with a yellow woollen tassle with Lucy from Peanuts saying "Be glad you don't have to write a book report".

(Re the pay slip, an older co-worker told me that she once used her full cash pay packet as a bookmark on the evening bus. She finished the book as she reached her destination and went straight to the library Night Drop bin.
You guessed it, she saw her book slide down the chute just as she realised what she'd done - it was never found).

I have a little collection of bookmarks and use whichever one strikes my fancy. I hate dog-eared pages which is what my husband tends to do. Bookmarks can be very cute and inexpensive. Makes me feel good when I walk out of a bookstore with a new book and new bookmark to go with it. Of course on my Kindle the last page read is always ready for me - love it!

I have several laminated card bookmarks that I use (and tend to lose with a frequency that tends to the embarrassing), but mostly I use whatever is handy and not detrimental to the pages at the time of putting the book aside.

I have on occasion found a book encapsulating a drinks coaster within its pages.

I tend to always lose bookmarks, I usually just grab a random piece of paper that will fit.

I always use my favorite bookmark. I made it by printing some pictures of Hello Kitty (dressed as the members of KISS) and I laminated it so it wouldn't get ruined by frequent use.

I like bookmarks and I even have a small collection. Right now I'm using one of the book depository's bookmarks

I use a bookmark. It has numerology on, about the number 31, which is the date I was born on.
