Real thing hands down. I can't stand listening to a book. When there's more than one character and they are all in the same voice. And for w/e reason I can't visualize something someone describes to me. I like to create my own voices and picture my own scene. Otherwise what's the point?

I used to do audio books when I was younger, but I like physical books now. The exception is if it's done via radio play style, or if there's a really good narrator: ala, Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried read by Bryan Cranston.

Or Robert Evans, The Kid Stays in the Picture. Which is just batshit insane.

I'd rather read straight from the book itself. Listening to a book would probably have me fall asleep.

I love audio books. I like them for work and travel. I prefer my kindle books but audio books are sometimes more convenient. With a book I have already read I sometimes will hear something I may have missed. Audio books have their place.

I prefer an actual book. I have tried audio books before and it is way easier for me to get distracted and think about other things. Then when I snap back into reality, I've missed pages!

I prefer the real book. I just don't like technology much... with it said I probably need to apologize too. I just love the old fashioned style. Having it in my hands. Phones, tablets etc is too complicated, sensitive, costly, have to keep an eye on it constantly and keep it safe all the time, update it, maintain it, upgrade it, and it's hard to understand and operate and uncomfortable to read from or type on. I am a typist 70wpm but I'm typing on my smartphone now and it's not 'lekker'. But...still a tablet or such is very glassy and I tend to be careful of dropping it. Compu wise, or laptop...you can't enjoy reading from these as much as from realbooks! I also love a collection of books I read all over the place. If it weren't for shipping costs I would prefer hardcovers being mailed to me. But I'm adaptable to technology...I do use it.

I like to read books rather than listen to them so I can re-read particularly good passages, speed through boring passages, etc. I haven't really tried listening to a "fluffy" audiobook - I may like that more.

The real thing definitely. I can't concentrate if I'm hearing a book; I need to see it visually to comprehend.

I like the real thing much better. My mind wanders with audiobooks and I just like the feel of the book on my hands

I'm not an audiobook fan. I prefer to read than listen. :) That's the entire purpose of reading a book, right? I mean lol. From real books to ebooks to audiobooks but still each has it's own importance. IMO audiobooks are enjoyed for a purpose other than just "reading" the book.

I don't like to sit and read a book but I listen to 3-5 audio books a week , if they are short I might actually listen to 6 or 7. Helps pass the time when you drive about 55 hours a week.

Audio books is really iffy for me, because if I don't like the person's voice, it is a no go. I prefer the real thing on all circumstances because I can throughly enjoy the novel also there is a certain pleasure in holding a finished novel in my hands.
