Not really, no. It sort of ruins my concentration. I like to concentrate deeply when I read. Or do any other task for that matter.

If I'm reading something outdoors, I usually go without music. While reading indoors though, I can go with our without. Usually it's something without lyrics I can understand. That is, if it has lyrics, they cannot be in english.

I usually listen to Jazz or Classical music while I am reading a physical book. But, when I am reading articles online or just browsing through a magazine, I can listen to just about any type of music-- pop, rock, country you name it. As a matter of fact, I am browsing this site while listening to my favorite artists on Pandora. Sometimes I must have my music. It relaxes me..

I listen to music while I'm at work in my truck while I read. If I am home I can have the tv on and still read just fine. I just need background noise.

I can tune out most background noise when I'm reading, but I actually love listening to different types of music depending on the genre of the book I'm reading.

No noise for me when I read. I need silence to fully immerse myself in a novel.

I actually don't because I usually read on the go.

Not always, but I do enjoy music in the background as I read.

I prefer to read in silence. Lyrics can be distracting and I'm not fan of classical music.

I usually can't listen to music when I read. I find it to be really distracting. I love listening to music while I write.

I listen to music a lot when I am reading, but I have to be careful on the song choice because I can end up listening to music more than reading the book.

That can happen, and has happened to me when I was on a bus and my sister was listening to a song and I couldn't focus.

It depends on the book and where. If I'm reading to analyze elements and find a deeper meaning, no, I personally get distracted. However, if it's just for fun and I'm reading to just kill time and enjoy a good book, a little Sam Smith never hurt anyone :P

Listening to music while I read isn't something I'm keen about doing. Silence is golden. But sometimes there is noise. The world can't always be quiet. People party. Neighbors come over. Commotion is part of life. When I have no other alternative, I'll plug in those earphones, and listen to a playlist full of movie soundtracks.
