Generally I stay far away from romance and erotica type books, which alot of the time seem to be one in the same. I find really nothing that entertaining about them.

Definitely romance!

I can appreciate an author whether I like the subject or not, but romance has a way of making me roll my eyes quite a bit. Plus, I read to feed my curiosity and learn new things or new ways of thinking. Love isn't usually a new concept, it's just done in new situations. To me it screams boredom.

I try to read all types of books, some of them I like and some I don't. But I really like to explore a little bit of everything.

I don't seem to like romance/erotica books. I embarrass easily. I also don't think I would like horror books. I don't think I have ever tried to read one but I don't like to have nightmares when I go to sleep. I am also surprised but the people that avoid non-fiction. It is probably my favorite. Guess that is the reason there are many different books, authors, and readers.

I don't care for fiction books based entirely in the past. It doesn't matter what genre. I think it is too unrealistic to have a fi tion story in the middle ages, the characters all seem stereotypical of mass media beliefs and they all tend to have the same "not real" feel of trying too hard

Non-fiction and dime store romance. I like a good story romance and almost any good fiction. When it comes to non-fiction, I would rather just read a magazine article on the subject. Or, search the internet.

I will not read or review erotica. I just don't consider that genre moral or entertaining.

I tend to steer clear of fantasy like Robin Hobbs, George R.R. Martin and R. A. Salvatore because they are hard to predict, Chick Lit and Romance because they just don't make sense to me and bore me to tears, and non-fiction unless its a subject I am interested in. I tend to gravitate to horror, biographies, young adult, paranormal, and dealing anything with detectives, crime and forensics.

I don't like literature. I find it incredibly boring. I like to read more contemporary books.

Erotic, simply because I don't read for that kind of pleasure. I have a rule that if I don't feel comfortable reading or viewing something in public then I shouldn't be reading it at all. I like to be the same person I am in public as I am behind closed doors. I try to read all highly marketed books like Hunger Games, Divergent, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Lord of the Rings, etc so when I get into discussion about the books I can give a clear and concise answer as to was I didn't or didn't like it. For instance, Twilight. I liked that she was able to come up with a marketable idea for her book; however, unoriginal, much like Harry Potter. I don't like Stephine Meyers writing style and I think that her character building sucks. I would have found those two fatal writing traits forgivable if her grammar, punctuation, and writing improved throughout the books. J.K. Rowling is a good example of an improved writer. You can see the progress in each of her books. I felt, as I read the books Rowling wrote, more connected with the author because I saw the work she put in and the genuine felling she had for her books and character. Meanwhile, I wasn't as influenced by Twilight because I was not experiencing the authors emotions due to her lack of effort.

Anyway... I should stop now before I start something...

I avoid fantasy and science fiction. I just don't get it. Also historical fiction is another genre I do not read.

You are adorable. I shy away from romances as well, but that's only when they are the teenage i-love-you-so-much-even-though-i-just-met-you-and -i-promise-i will-never-leave-you-and-the-only-time-we'll-fight-is-because-we're-choosing-your-safety-over-my-own thing. Honestly, if I was dating a guy for a couple months and a huge, life threatening disasters happened I would ditch him to make sure my family was okay. just saying the romances put out in recent years haven't been the best.
