Those ten pages were in the first chapter which consisted of twenty something pages. The story wasn't going anywhere fast and I wasn't the only one who noticed. Books based on video game series I can usually get through but couldn't finish the first Splinter Cell book.
The reason is a mystery but I was able to fly through the second book.

I do feel guilty at times, but I also tell myself that life is too short to read books you don't like, when there are so many amazing ones that you can read in that time.Ginnydoll wrote: ↑10 Nov 2013, 23:52 If you are reading a book that you are not particularly fond of, do you finish reading it anyway? If you don't do you feel guilty about stopping before the end?
The only book I can think of that I couldn't get into was The Host by Stephanie Meyer
I did feel guilty and sometimes I think I should try to read it again, but I just couldn't get into it.
Maybe it's not guilt but more worry that I might miss the moment when the book turns into greatness...
