A little late, but oh well :lol2:

I guess you could say I'm impressed by what books can do. I still remember reading this particular scene in a book where the characters were being chased, and I literally felt my heart pounding like I was the one running. My breathing was ragged. My legs felt like jelly.
It was the most bizarre thing I had ever experienced, but I fell in love with books ever since. Next thing I knew, I read.
It's been 15 years since then, and although I admit I can't read as steadfastly as I used to, but I still find it easier to do than socializing. :lol2:

I love reading because there is so much to learn and discover from every single book. I have loved reading ever since I was little, and I hope to foster a love of reading in my children.

Reading novels provides an immersive experience that transports me from the mundane realities of everyday life into captivating fictional worlds. By delving into the pages of a well-crafted story, I can temporarily escape the constraints of reality and explore new perspectives, emotions, and experiences.

The best form of escapism is reading. While I’m engrossed in a book, I’m not thinking about anything else. It also allows me to live lives I could never live and go on adventures that I would 100% not survive through what happens in the first chapter, no matter what I sometimes choose to tell myself. I can read the thoughts and feelings of people who are fictional or people who are real but lived a long time ago. I can learn from people who are different from me or people who I can relate to. It’s hard to imagine not loving it and being grateful for my ability to appreciate it.

I think like most of you here, I like reading because it allows me to broaden the scoped of my thinking. Whenever I compare how I am today to how I was even a few months ago, I can always see vast differences in thought, acion, and perspective. I will attribute most if not all of it to reading.
Cannot appreciate this habit enough.

I love reading for multiple reasons -
1) it is an easy way to escape into another world and completely delve into that world with a good story
2) it’s another way to learn from someone. I love how there are books with knowledge over hundreds of years old
3) it’s a way to experience life completely in someone else’s shoes

I like reading to add imagination to the messages that the author says. The author gives some guidance and I can add the rest, from settings, to the characters.

Escape. It allows me to travel the world through pages while I am financially stuck in the Midwest. Reading also has a lot of hidden surprises and things I never learned in school.

Personally reading is a passion, books always have been a way to understand society and how civilization affects our values. I also find myself more relaxed when reading.
