It always takes me a minute, sometimes even longer, but I make the decision eventually. If the answer is yes, back on the shelf it goes. If the answer is no, hello cardboard box. If the book is a newer, more popular one I'll take it to my local library, but if it's old or in bad condition I just donate it to Goodwill.
I figure in every scenario, someone gets to enjoy the book and that's good enough for me.

Also I know this isn't a proper grammar forum, but am I the only one who noticed that the subject says your when it is supposed to be you're ?

...The same is true for e-books; except in that case, I can't really electronically lend someone a copy.

Usually when I read a book it was taken out of the library, so I have to return them too...Tigania wrote:I keep mine, because I do re-read quite often. Although the ones I borrow from the library, I do return. They get a little miffed if I keep them.
The few books I do keep are gifts from family and friends or ones I had purchased because the cover looked pretty, and I put them on display.

Some I've sold to used bookshops.
Sometimes I give to friends.
Sometimes I donate to the financially-strapped local library.
