I really lean towards paperback because they are easier to handle and carry around. I am trying to get used to reading books on my tablet but it is so much different than being able to hold the actual book in my hand. I'm adapting though.

Right now, I'm preferring e-books because they can never get tore up or lost. When I have to choose physical books, paperback is cheapest, but hardback last the longest.

I prefer hardcovers. I just like the look of them more. It's definitely easier to hold paperbacks while reading, but I try to get a hardcover version whenever possible.

Hardcover because they last longer in my book shelves :) plus traveling with them is easier but I always end up getting a copy for my kindle to travel lighter.

Hardcovers are good for aesthetic purposes but are nearly impractical to handle. You must be in a sitting position with a table to fully enjoy a hardcover because you need extra support. So I pick paperback for accessibility's sake.

Paperback 10000%. I go through phases of paperbacks and then phases of e-reading. But I never get hardbacks (they’re always more expensive and bigger!) when I feel like reading a physical book. :tiphat:

I like the flexibility of paperback. Holding a hard cover book is uncomfortable and difficult. I often end up in bed reading or curled up on the couch and trying to keep a hard cover book in a certain position is difficult. Although I do have all the Harry Potter books in hardcover...

I definitely agree with another comment that paperback tends to rip easy, but I also tend to find that hardcover tends to tear from the entire binding faster. So, for me paperback. The cover can be protected with a case or cover, hardcovers the books fall apart way too fast.

Paperback 100%. A hardcover book always feels too serious - almost like a textbook. I need a casual paperback that I can stuff in a bag or a pocket to really get absorbed in what I'm reading.

I mostly read paperback books. Easier to handle, much cheaper but they do tend to not last long.

Relaying on the mood, if I feel like I want to connect to the author I would go with paperback. If I feel like I want to think and meditate the meaning of the book I would go with hardback.

Right now, I’m into hardcover books because they look more elegant and maintain their shape better.

Paperbacks are way easier to read but I think special edition Hardbacks can make great gifts.

I love hardbacks from a style standpoint and that they hold up better, but to carry around and have on the go I like a paperback. In my current season of life though I mainly read on my kindle, but I do truly love a proper book.

Hardcover. When I read books there is emotion involved and touch increases that emotion so hardcover is the best for me but sometimes I just have to make do with paperback
