Did you ever read a book without reading a summary first?

I would always read a book summary before I start to read a book. I would want to know what to expect

I am kind of a book hoarder, so I buy a lot of books at once. But, only after reading its blurb. So, I have a long to-be-read list and each time I pick a new book I forget what its plot was but I am happy to know that I picked it myself.

Once, I started a book without reading anything about it prior, because I've read that author's couple of books. I didn't realize that authors can try out different genres too. So, no more of that.

Yes, if it was highly recommend by someone I know. weirdly in the middle of the book I end up reading the summary. If the cover the of the book is interesting I will just read the book.

I mostly read books without reading the blub on the back. I like being surprised, I guess. I've also found a lot of the times the blurb gives me a completely different picture in my mind than what the book actually contains.

I always have to read the summary first. If I am buying a book, I obviously want to buy one that fits my interests. Even if I am just checking one out of the library, I just like to know (generally) what is coming.

I've never read the summary for a school book. They were assigned to me so I had to read them, whether I was interested in them or not, so there was no point in reading it when the teacher already told us a little about the books.

Sometimes, mostly when reading subsequent books in a series I would just jump right in, knowing the content from the first book.
I have also read some old books in which the jackets have disappeared along with the book's summary and therefore just had to start reading. For the most part though I think I enjoy looking at the summary/blurb just to sort of set the mood or mindset before diving into the story itself.

I don't read a book without reading a summary first. I always purchase a book after reading the description of it. That's the thing that attracts me to buy the book in the first place.

Yes because just by looking at the book cover, I know that its going to be interesting. Most of the time when the book cover doesn't say a lot, I read the summary.

No, I can't read a book without reading the summary first. I annoys me when I can't read the summary on the back of a book, because it's filled with reviews.

Rather not. Because I always want to know what I'm going to have to read. Books can surprise the reader, and for me, if I haven't even read the description, it means starting something I don't know what it will present to me. It doesn't seem like an option to me.
