I love when people recommend a book to me. In fact that's how I find a lot of the books that I read.

Most of the time I appreciate being introduced to new books or authors I might otherwise have never found.

For me, when talking to my fellow book lovers who live in proximity to me, book suggestions come into the discussion naturally. I enjoy getting suggestions, as it firstly is kind of cool to see someone get excited about something so inherantly intellectual, and second to see them get so excited over something which I care so much for myself.
The joys of literature transcend the evils of the world. I believe in its miraculious baptism and emotional power of the words trickling down the page. To me, there is no higher artform...

I don't mind taking suggestions. If a person were to suggest a book to me I would more than likely read the book. I think it's a good way to get introduced to a new type of story you may never have thought to read before.

Getting suggestions for books is great. I think I would read the free samples on amazon before I actually bought the book though. It's even better getting a book as a gift. I always read at least 100 pages of a book before I give up on it. Sometimes it takes a while for the action to start in some books. I always try to get back to the person who suggested the book and let them know how good or bad their suggestion was.

I don't mind the suggestions but my to be read pile is always in such a state that I don't get to suggestions until I've had them for quite a while. That's why I don't like borrowing books.

I don't mind receiving book recommendations, but what I often find is that on some social media sites where recommendations are encouraged, I find that many people do not pay attention to the types of books I'd like recommended to me.

So, in actuality, I don't mind receiving a recommendation, as long as it's the type of book you realize I'm interested in reading. When I get recommendations for romance/erotica, wherein I do not like reading those genres, it's rather aggravating when someone will recommend that type of book to me, especially knowing I do not like to read that.

In other words, as long as I get the books recommended to me that I enjoy, I usually do not mind. You discover new authors this way.

I like getting suggestions but not from everyone. If a person loves the book which I already read and disliked, I am not so eager to try his other favorite title.

I like it but I do not like it when someone recommends a book and than proceeds to tell me the entire plot.

For me it really depends. If a friend recommends a book to me, I like to take the suggestion. It's obviously a book they care about/enjoyed. It's great to be able to talk with them about the book. However when people don't even bother to ask what kind of book you enjoy reading and then recommend something to you, that I do not like.

It really depends on who is doing the suggesting. I like to look at what others are reading and maybe find a new book based on what a friend is reading, but I'm not a huge fan when people explicitly suggest a book for me to read. I always feel like I'm obligated to read that book, even if it doesn't sound like something I would like.

I do like it. However, I can tell by the person who requests it if I am going to like it or not. If I do not get along with the person or think they have a dry personality, I know I will not like their books they recommend.

I absolutely LOVE people reccommending books to me. It's so awesome to experience new authors that way and to get an idea on what that person likes :)

I don't mind getting suggestions, or recommendations. People let me know whether or not the book is good or not. One series of books that people were giving me mixed reviews about was fifty shades of grey. When I actually read the book, I thought it was one of the better books that I have read, and allowed me to explore a little more on the romance/S&M portion of books.

Definitely. I read so many books that it can be difficult to find the next one. I enjoy recommendations.
