Do you read book covers?

Yes. I like reading the copywriter review and author bio, plus the various quick reviews on the back cover. It all builds familiarity with the book. It very much reminds me of vinyl records and reading the liner notes. Every time I got a new record, I would religiously read the liner notes from front to back - sometimes twice!

I read the summary and look for reviews. I also take it a step further and read the first paragraph. I usually can tell by the first or second paragraph if I am going to like the book.

Being a bit older and often out of the pop culture loop...I also almost never watch television...I often read a book sleeve to figure out who the person is and where I should know them from. Case in point, I didn't read the sleeve but I read "Bossypants" cover to cover. Only later did my family clue me into what shows Tina Fey has been in. But I still enjoyed the book.

Yes, if it is an author I haven't read before I want to know what the book is about.

Yes. I like to know what the book is about before I start reading. Also, it helps me decide whether to read the book.

Yes, I just read the summary and save the author bio and the comments for after I finish the book, though. It's a quirky habit of mine that I've had ever since I could remember.

I always read the summary on the book cover. It gives you an idea of whether or not you would be interested in the book, and it gives you an idea of what you're getting yourself into.

Yep, I do! It's mostly how I decide if I feel I am going to like a book or not is by reading the quick reviews and summary, it also helps me know the author a little bit and their background on writing.

Yes. I always do. I read the sleeve to discover whether or not I will find the book interesting or not. It gives a short overview of what the book is about, helping me determine just what type of world I am delving into. I also love to read the reviews to find what others have thought of the book, before I could get to it.

I tend to take a look at the cover of the book to decide if i want to get it. I know they say don't judge a book by its cover, but I am guilty of that unfortunately.

I always read the cover and randomly selected page somewhere in the middle, just so I know if the storyline gradates.

While I will usually read the covers, there are just some covers that jump out and say "buy me"...

I read book covers - I like knowing where the author is from, how they started writing and other details about their lives. I also check the date the book was published and read the summary to get an idea if I will like the book.
