I move my mouth when I read, I also whisper a little (which I have been told is annoying).
So who else does this?
Is it weird?
Does it assist you when you read? I myself feel as though I am reading faster and taking in more information when I mouth the words and whisper a little.

I don't move my mouth or whisper when I am just reading, but I mumble to myself when I am rereading something I have written. It helps in checking/editing for errors.

I do a bit of a mumble to, especially when analyzing something. I think it helps to focus all my attention on what I am reading, rather than the environment around me. What do you think?

That might have something to do with it. Or you might be more of an auditory learner and it helps you to have some kind of auditory feedback. ?? I don't know... I'm just trying to sound intelligent now. Is it working?

Only when I read aloud - but I find that my mind reads the words faster that I can speak them, so if reading aloud I have to force myself to slow down and read each individual word.

No, I don't unless I read aloud.

Funny question. I don't. Maybe I mumble a little when I start off so I get some pace because materializing an action may help me focus on what I'm reading, but as soon as I pick up the pace I shut up

I read dialogue out loud sometimes, especially when there are accents and/or dialects involved. Otherwise, no, I try to keep my mouth closed whenever possible!

No, My mouth does not move when I read silently. However, when I am skimming over paperwork and similar things I find my lips moving. Also, I find myself making strange sounds.

The only time I move my mouth and whisper is when I am proofreading my writing drafts. When I read in my head I miss important grammar errors. If I read what I have written out loud I can catch my mistakes. Sometimes if I come to an unfamiliar word that I am reading I will sound it out too.

I don't have that exact habit, but I understand why you do it. I sometimes read aloud if I'm editing my work so that I can hear my errors or if I'm reading something that is hard to get through (my first time reading the Great Gatsby and Shakespeare). It allows me to stay alert and I feel as though I'm actually understanding what I'm reading and getting into the writing. Sometimes I even do voices. Perhaps you do it because you need a narrator. Some of us do it internally, but I think it's the same if you do it aloud. Sometimes we just need a louder narrator than the voice in our head.

It actually depends. There are times when if the pace of the story is fast and jumping and I'm consuming the words as fast as i can that i will "lipsync" to the words in an attempt to make sure i don't miss anything. Otherwise, no.

I'm the same when it comes to reading. My mind tends to wander whenever I read so its very helpful for me to move my finger along with the words as I am reading them.
