Yes, I can ride my stationary bike and read, and also have been known to have one eye on the tv while reading. I've probably shouldn't own this one but have propped my kindle up and read while doing something tedious at work too. You could do this too, you just have to train your focus with a little practice.

I am generally oblivious while reading, so I can try to multi-task, but it is usually pretty hazardous. I tried reading and walking, but I walked into a post. However, bowing to my stomach, I do sometimes eat and read because I just can't put the book down, and I go any longer without eating.

I'd have to say no because I want to be able to concentrate on what I'm reading.

Well I often eat and read, and sometimes while I'm (rarely) watching television. Most of the time I have a book in my hand the house is silent and I'm focussing on the book. Reading on the bus, if I'm enjoying the book, can be hazardous because I'm famous for missing (or nearly missing - most of the drivers know me by now) my stop ...

My dad does this. He reads with the TV set on. (I'd be hard-pressed to say which I think he's giving the most attention to.)
I personally cannot do this, and I must read with singular focus. To the point that I can't take a book to the doctor's waiting room or read in the car (as a passenger, of course), because I have other things on my mind then. I've tried reading in those situations, but it never works out. Magazines work in those instances, though. (Design or woodworking or art magazines--nothing with serious articles--those would also require my singular focus.)

Nope, I'm terrible at multitasking. I've been that way all my life. In Kindergarten while trying to skip I was like ... "One ... two-three ... four, buckle my shoe."

Yes, I read when I exercise - run on the treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, and also when cooking, vacuuming - not always safe, but I do it anyway!

I can't read while listening to music or watching t.v., but reading while exercising is a great idea! I should try that sometime.

Oh goodness, I can't multitask to save my life while reading a book. I've known people that play music while they're reading but it's far too distracting for me. No idea how they do it!

I read while I am on the stationary bike pretty often. Also, the tv is generally on in the background, but if I am reading something good the tv is really just background noise and I am not paying much attention to it.

I find the television too distracting if I'm trying to read or write ... I end up writing what's being said on the programme or film rather than what I want to - that can work to my advantage sometimes! If the house is silent, as I prefer it, I can read a book in a night - the television being on slows me right down.

I can read and knit at the same time but I do not enjoy it. I like to completely focus on the book I am reading.
