Partly sad that it's over and also partly accomplished

Sometimes it can be overwhelming. Especially if its a series and I've just finished the last book.

Sometimes I feel like crying because it's over...that's how I always feel when I finish a Dan Brown book or Preston and Child or J. R. Ward.

I feel excited because I get closure. Though I go like: Now what? I felt like I don't have anything to read now, what will I do?

I always feel like taking a pen to continue writing the story, or contacting the author for a sequel.

Super sad because when it's a really good book, I don't want it to end!

Overwhelmed like losing something especially if the book is a great read.

I'm usually upset that it's over, but also glad that I found such a great book and that I got to experience it. I also sometimes go back to re-read my favourite parts, and will often re-read a very good book a few months after initially finishing it.
I also search online for either a sequel or other works by the author, and usually end up buying something else that they've written!

greetings.
The final page of a great book is bathed in satisfaction. What more there is, depends on the ending.

At the end of a good book I feel satisfied, because I've read that good book; sad, because it has ended; a little upset with myself for not having savoured it, if it was so good that I read it in one go. Really, it's a mix of emotions when I get to the end of a book I truly enjoyed.
Additionally, I might re-read some of my favourite parts, and/or search for more works by that author.

If it’s an excellent book, then I feel so sad and always wish it had more. If it’s a bad one I’m always glad and often think why I have read it to the last page.
