What Does a 5 star review mean to you?

To me, it means that the book is perfect. Not only is there nothing wrong with it, it is wildly engaging and is one of my favorite books I've ever read. It's a book I am likely to reread over and over again.

I'm seeing a lot of reviews on here with 5 stars, but there's almost always a "but...", and then they say something about how that inconsequential thing they didn't like isn't enough to downgrade the rating. So I'm wondering what everyone thinks of their own 5 star reviews?

To me 5 stars is “this book is perfect from a storytelling and technical stand point.” So sometimes a book is a 5/5 to me but I still disagree with a plot point or how a character handled something. Typically is also a book I would be willing reread and one that I keep coming back too and thinking on.

Sometimes a story truly is perfect I just don’t love something about it but as I’ve learned from reviewing here, I can’t let that affect the rating

To me, a 5-star rating for a book means that that book is captivating, has a great storyline, is believable, and has little or no serious grammar/spelling errors.

A five star review to me means that the book has all the features i want, suspense, action and a little bit of intimacy.

On my goodreads: It means that I loved the book. It delighted me. Even if it wasn't perfect.
In an OBC review: It hit all the technical criteria and I enjoyed the book. It was well written.
