I cannot drink a lot of coffee nowadays as it gives me a headache, used to drink MrBrown coffee while reading a book when I was younger, so I just have a cup whenever I'm craving for it now. But I always love a hot tea or milk tea. Hihi :)

I don't have a favorite beverage while reading. A couple of times when I actually made a coffee or tea it cooled down because I was so immersed in a book.

I feel as though I read slower if I have a beverage with me, either that or the beverage doesn't get drank

I have never thought about this!! And now I find it so funny that I never gave it a thought!! May be because I am so into the books, I loose track of what I am drinking or eating, and that definitely can happen given that I read even while walking, climbing stairs, going to the toilet (I once sat in the toilet for more than two hours even after finishing my business, because I did not want to stop reading and had to come out because some one else wanted to use the toilet :P). But now come to think of it, if given a choice, I think it will all depend on the kind of book I am reading, and the time of the day. Well for example suppose I am reading a Romantic book on a cold winter night, I would love to have something related to chocolate and obviously hot, change the genre to action adventure on a warm sunny day and I would subconsciously want a Redbull!

Coffee almost always.
I don't mind reading without any kind of drink with me, but just sipping away my free time without any reading material doesn't feel right for me. The taste ain't the same! And I think it has a lot to do with keeping me focused.

P.S. Oh, I stick to my hot coffee whether it's middle of the summer or the end of the winter.

Some chocolate milkshake with some popcorns give a movie theatre like experience to me and I can finish a book per one and half day.

Chilled and fizzy Pepsi is my drink... that's what I pick up, along with the book I want to read, before settling down.
