My favorite beverage to drink while reading is definitely coffee! Course, if I am reading before bed then I switch to green tea or decaf. :D

I always sit down with a hot chocolate or an iced mocha latte depending on my mood. I always read with a chocolaty drink because I associate it with childhood and wonder, and reading brings me the same comforts. They just feel like they belong together.

I tend not to drink anything while reading. I become so absorbed in my book that drinking something takes time away from the books. Besides, I am quite clumsy and drinking anything would take concentration that I just cannot spare!

Oh, man. I am a pig when reading. Oink, oink. It's bad. Cereal and milk, crackers and milk, sugarsugarsugar ...

But wait. You didn't ask about food.

I like to have a cup of coffee and a high-carb item to go with it. In theory, I "nurse" both while reading. In practice, I usually finish them pretty quickly. Then get more coffee.

But that's just when sitting down intentionally to read or write. That doesn't count all the moments of reading that I snatch throughout the day.

Tea..tea...and more TEA! Did I mention tea is my favorite book beverage? It's so soothing. Specifically, STASH makes my favorite brand of Moroccan Mint. However, in the morning I will start off with a cup of Java light and sweet.

I live in Hawaii so a hot beverage isn't what I reach for while curling up for a long reading session!

Strawberry lemonade with an assortment of berries in the mason jar so I have a little bit of a snack too!

I actually try to only drink water while reading. I do most of my reading at night in bed to help tire me out. I have a personal rule that I only allow water in the bedroom just in case I spill any on my bed. Additionally, I tend to sip mindlessly and any drink with caffeine or calories would quickly be over consumed.

Am I the only one who doesn't really drink anything while reading?! Maybe this is too much info, but the more I drink the more I need to get up and go to the bathroom. Who wants to keep interrupting a good book with excess potty trips? Haha

I don't really have a favorite to drink while reading. Usually whatever appeals to me at the time.

Back when I had a nook (ereader), I spent hours reading while drinking iced tea at the cafe in my local Barnes & Noble store. At home, I don't drink or eat anything while I read. I've grabbed water only to completely forget about it. I think I just focus on the book too much to realize how hungry or thirsty I might be.
