Homemade Pho and/or Ramen

I've recently become obsessed with pho and ramen (definitely NOT Top Ramen. haha). I'd love to make it at home, noodles and all. Can anyone give me some advice/tips on making it? I would love some recipes, if any of y'all have some, though I'd like to keep the spice down. I live in Houston, so I have access to the right shops, but are there any specific items I may have trouble finding? And if I do have trouble finding said ingredient, would it be weird to purchase it online? I'm thinking mostly spices, honestly. Any help would be great!

Pinterest my friend!! I love love love Pho' and have made it myself a couple of times. The key is in the broth. I hear star anise seeds a nice to add, expensive but not too hard to find. Honestly though, I would hit up Pinterest, they have everything.

I've never tried either but I've seen Ramen on cooking channels and it looks great. Top Ramen is as far as I've gotten lol. I'll have to try some recipes.

Pintrest haa a recipe for Ramen. I just pinned it about a month ago. Ingredients seem quite easy and it looks delicious. Now that I'm reminded of it I'll have to try and cook some up soon. I'll let you know how it goes!

Pinterest is your go to for delicious meals!. Especially thai food! It is my favorite, and I have tried making drunken noodles. They were good.

I find that the trick is in the hoisin sauce. I have to make homemade because I have to have gluten free, but you can either buy it or make it. Then you just put the type of broth no matter if it is a meat broth, vegetable, or I like mushroom, and noodles, spices, herbs, and vegetables you like. Then you are good to go.

I'm not such a great cook, I'll probably consider myself an average, but I'm sure following up this forum will definitely make me learn a lot in that angle.?

Anyone ever tried the native banga soup with very cute cat fish and some semolina pound?

I love Pho! My favorite way to prepare it is in an instant pot. I like my pho with chicken. Here is the link to the best instant pot chicken pho recipe I have ever made

The rice noodles and cardamom pods might be a little harder to find than the rest of the ingredients however, most big chain grocery stores have the rice noodles in their international food sections now and you can use ground cardamom instead of pods if you can’t find the pods. I definitely suggest using the chicken thighs even though it’s a little more labor intensive because you really can’t beat the flavor that comes from the chicken thighs. Definitely worth it!

Crafting a rich and flavorful homemade pho or ramen broth is a cherished endeavor. The aromatic spices and slow-simmered goodness elevate these comfort dishes to a whole new level.

Honestly, I found my favourite recipes on Instagram reels and Pinterest! My favourite ramen broth consists of peanut butter, gochujang paste, spring onions, water, soy sauce and sesame oil. It's soooo good and you can add whatever noodles or protein you'd like. I like adding an egg!

Wow @Ambar Gill, sounds yummy! I should try it. The best I can get to when I have noodles are the ready-to-eat types - add water, heat and eat!

Do not overcook it. The noodles are very fragile. If you overcook them, the noodles will be soggy. It will not taste good.
