First meal/beverages you prepared yourself.

There are a lot of reasons that make you cook. Was there a reason you started cooking? What was the first thing you prepared yourself, without any help, to eat or not eatable food (failed attempt)?

I always thought it was so neat the way my dad made pancakes, so I tried to make them myself, but it didn’t work out so well. Let’s just say I managed to burn not only the batter and my hand, but there was egg in my hair for days!

for me... I enjoyed watching how my mummy baked queen cakes and they taste yummy.. but the first time I tried instead of putting them in an oven I put them in a microwave.... what happened next all of them got burnt and turned out to be the worst attempt ever

I learned to cook at a very young age and was making 8-inch fruit cakes by myself when I was about 5 (Mom would never let me put them in the oven or take them out, but other than that they were all my own work) I could follow a recipe just fine, but devising my own...yeah, not so good.

One time, I decided I would invent my own cakes. I can't remember what went into them, only that eggs and flour were involved and probably nothing else. I microwaved them and served them proudly to my parents, who were kind enough to eat them and make all the right noises.

Next time I made them, my mother made sure that I tasted them too. "Vile" is putting it too lightly. That was the last time I ever tried experimenting in the kitchen :D

I started cooking for health reasons (so I could know all the ingredients). From there, my love for cooking stemmed from a desire to experience a variety of foods without the cost of eating out.

Eggs when I was in like middle school because I was home alone and had to feed myself lol. My mom was a single mom so I learned to take care of myself at a young age.

If my memory serves me well, at the age of 15, I steamed rice with peas and coconut milk. It was delicious and I was congratulated by my family members.

I think I first cooked some ladies finger. I also remember learning to clean the crab first before learning to cook it.

I once experimented with cocktails at home and made a smashing Long Island Iced Tea, but when I got up to have a third, I fell over the coffee table, so I left it at two.

The first thing I prepared myself was eggs. It was the easiest thing for me to cook at the time.

When I was in elementary school my mom worked two jobs. I wanted chocolate chip cookies one day so I looked at the recipe and gave it a try. The cookie jar was never empty after that.

I learned to make pancakes from scratch when I was approximately 6 years old. I then mastered coffee making so I could make breakfast in bed for my grandparents when staying there.

I didn't learn to cook as a child and I got married at a young age. The first meal I tackled was a lasagna recipe that didn't require pre-cooking the noodles (more common now, not heard of back then), and it turned out great! It's still the basic recipe I use, 24 years later.
