Icon BOOK TO MOVIE (SIMON VS THE HOMOSAPIENS AGENDA)

Post by Kiowa »

I have read the cliché, comedic book of Simon vs the Homosapien's Agenda by Becky Albertali for the first time in December of 2019 and just finished watching the movie. I had missed the hype on it all those years ago, but please tell me I am not the only one who still loves this universe. I just need to gush about it with someone. There were obviously some points that I disagreed with both in the movie and the book, but I do want to just put it out there that I have found a new interest in this universe and if there is still a spark in your heart for this world, I would totally love to discuss any thoughts or opinions.

I liked it, thought it was a cute movie and as one of the few mainstream gay movies out there, albeit there are better ones (both mainstream and indie). I definitely agree that I also had some issues with the book and movie at times but overall it was a fun watch. I thought the characters were generally likable (save for Martin) and the soundtrack was one of the big highlights for me. I like that kind of calm poppy music.

I loved the movie but i regret not reading the book first
Imagine if we had no secrets, no respite from the truth. What if everything was laid bare the moment, we introduced ourselves?
