I would say that I think I love both RDJ movies. It's hard for me to decide between the two, but if I had to pick, I'd go for the first one.

i think the TV series adaptation is the best one.We get to feel just how enigmatic the character is.He tends to solve crimes without taking breaks but we get to see past the genius into his deranged behaviour. He gets angry easily and often puts his life in danger in order to solve crimes. :)

I loved the BBC series - it managed to recreate the Victorian atmosphere in an authentic manner through its cinematography and film sets. Cumberbatch and Freeman did stellar jobs on that too - like icecream on coffee!
