Exactly why I always opt for the book first. But then, I usually don't watch the movie adaptations because I don't want my expectations trampled on.micoleon13 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2017, 18:44 You definitely should read the book. A lot is left out in the movie and the book is much scarier!

Of course Steven King will say it's good...he has to make money!Christina O Phillips wrote: ↑16 Apr 2017, 18:06 When I first heard it was being remade, I rolled my eyes and again wondered why Hollywood struggles to come up with original movies and is instead in the slump of needless remakes. But the combination of Stephen King saying it's good and the trailer which makes it look good, too, has me more interested. Though I've never read the book. Maybe I should.

I personally wasn't a fan of the movie (the 2017 remake - I haven't seen the original). I didn't find it scary - which was surprising considering I'm not exactly a fan of clowns and I frighten easily compared to most.

The first part of this remake was actually good, not entirely true to the book, but I think it was close enough, I understand that maybe it would be too much if they included EVERYTHING into the movie, it would be too controversial, even in 2019. I can't wait to see what they've done in the second part. That's another thing that I guess was good for the adaptation, dividing the story in two parts, the book is too long to compress it in one movie only. I also think it's interesting how they managed to just focus on the kids on the first one and I guess they will focus on the adult life on the second with some memories of their childhood, given that in the book you go back and forth between the children and the adults.
I hope I didn't bore you with my long paragraph, I'm just a big fan of Stephen King's work

Agreed! The cast was amazing and most were very well selected!magnoparisi wrote: ↑22 May 2019, 18:03 A little long, but I liked the movies. Child cast did a really good job at portraying the characters in the novel.
