What are your guys thoughts on books being turned into movies? What if the movie was then recreated 20 years later? The iconic Stephen King novel Pet Semetary was turned into a film in 1989, and they did a wonderful job sticking to the books story. In the 2019 recreation the only major difference
I noticed was they changed which character dies first (no spoilers here ). You should watch and read the story and let me know your thoughts on the topic, let me know which one you like the most.

I haven’t read or seen Pet Semetary, but when it comes to films being made of books I’m all for people doing it several times.

If CGI gets better or better writers come along it’s definitely worth redoing them. The Netflix version of A Series of Unfortunate Events is a good example of a remake being worth it, even though the first attempt wasn’t all that long before.

Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it's just that some producers think they can make easy money from a product that already attracted people, even if it's very different from the novel. I haven't seen the new Pet Semetary but Richard Matheson's I Am Legend was adapted three times into movies that are quite different from each other. The first two movies are already classics, the most recent one is the subject of a lot of criticism.

For me this was the case for Jane Austen's book Mansfield Park, I really looked forward to watching the movie version, but to my disappointment, it was a disaster, then I stumble upon another movie version, but it turns out to be worse.

Little Women is a good one in my opinion for this topic. I honestly love each Little Women movie that has been made. Because they stick to the plot but are just more modern than the last.

Well, most books have been turned to movies but the success lies with the whole production team even on the choice of characters to use and how they are trained to execute it.

I'm okay with both. It's hard for me to decide what's best with things like this sometimes, and I guess I just don't mind, as long as it's good.
