With Jurassic World: Dominion now out, how do you think the new movie holds up to the original Michael Crichton novel?

I'm a huge fan of the original 1993 movie and I always felt that the movie had a sense of awe and wonder, whereas the novel leaned more into the thriller/horror elements.

While "Jurassic World" has its merits, Michael Crichton's novel "Jurassic Park" delves deeper into ethical dilemmas and the consequences of playing with nature. The novel's complexity adds layers to the story.

The novel "Jurassic Park" by Michael Crichton is more detailed and thought-provoking, whereas Jurassic World is visually stunning but lacks the depth of the book.

I would say that I think I love both. It's hard for me to decide what's best with things like this sometimes, but if I had to pick, I'd go for the latter

The novel is many-layered, but where the movie really excels is in actually visually presenting the challenges in the humans vs dinosaurs conflict. By reading the book alone, one doesn't get a sense of the magnitude of the challenge.
