Create the Soundtrack

I struggled with where to put this, but seeing as it's about assigning songs to books (or more aptly, their adaptations) this seemed to be the right place.
Sometimes songs seem to almost be written for a book, or a certain part of a book, and you can almost hear it playing as you read (or maybe that's just me

).
Anyway...
If I'm not completely lost with this subject, and it does happen to other people, I'm interested in hearing about it
Personally, I've heard the song on the trailer for Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, and it's eerily apt.
The song is "New Day Coming", though I'm not sure of the particular artist, the original seems to be by Mama Cass.
Also, when Breaking Dawn was originally being made, I really thought they should use the song "Join Me In Death" by the Finnish band HIM. It would've fit so well!

I thought that This is Home by Switchfoot fit so well with the overall theme of The Chronicles of Narnia.

Apparently so.
It's early though.

lol Hey there, guys! You're not quite the only ones

I'm always seeing connections between songs and books/movies! With me it's usually the other way around though: I listen to Pandora Radio every day, and sometimes I'll hear a song that just perfectly describes a story I know. I always find myself wishing that I knew how to make music videos. That way I could post them on YouTube and hopefully let others see what I see

I'm a little late... but this happens to me too. I couldn't stop associating Dashboard Confessional songs from their A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar album to the Twilight series while I read that (but maybe that was just the high school teen angst). I also always think of the "Gayle Song" that was written for the movie adaptations of Hunger Games with tons of other books I read - not sure why but I think it just applies to everything!

Hmm how interesting. I never thought of songs this way. Now that I've come across this forum though I'll probably think a lot more about it next time I pick up a book.

I've always thought the song Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie is perfect for twilight series.

I love film music but I don´t think that I could create soundtracks now. I don´t know many contemporary songs. When I listen to the music I simply enjoy it and don´t think about future use. You are really renaissance people;-)

I finished Childhood's End a week or so ago, and "The Last Generation" by The Rasmus would have been perfect for it.

I read a book called Sing you Home by Jodi Picoult. It came with a companion sound track which was great!

It does happen to me as well. I used to think that it only happens to me but it looks like it happens to lot of people.
